Oh how quickly a year can go by! It feels like it was just yesterday that I arrived to A & S’s home for their newborn session! I haven’t seen this family in a year and it was so exciting to see how much Tucker has grown up and to engage his fun personality. I learned very quickly that this little man had his own agenda as to how our session would go.
He was not interested in my crazy noises, did not flinch at my jumping around nor was he interested in my singing. His dad recommended just making up a fun song, but I’ll have to admit I’m not the most creative in that area, nor did I want to embarrass this family (including Grandma) as random people walked by. So we let Mr. Tucker be a boy and have fun which I think is the key to sessions with children under the age of 4.
A & S – Thank you for another great session. It was fun seeing you again and I hope you guys enjoy the photos! Hugs – J
As I prepared for this session, I found myself constantly drawn to the color pink. Pink headbands, pink blankets….pink everything!! Thank goodness my personal color selections went over well with this family, mainly the momma. When I arrived I was happy to walk into Brystal’s room which was all pink with the cutest butterflies. You could tell that a lot of love and hard work went into the room and it was near perfect for their first child. Miss Brystal was sleepy and ready for her photo shoot which made this session a breeze. I hope that T & A enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them. It was a pleasure meeting both of you and I look forward to next time – J
A few weeks ago I received a call from a client I’ve worked with several times in the past. “Ro” as he will now be called, typically contacts me to photograph networking events he hosts. This time was much different.
He and a few good friends from college wanted to send a buddy off with well wishes. The idea, was to get all of the guys together for a session capturing the friendship they’ve built over the years. I’m not even kidding when I say, these guys showed up lookin’ GQ from head to toe!! I had so much fun joining these guys for the early part of Saturday morning and appreciate them calling me for the session. All the best to JB in your new adventure and thanks to Ro for a fun morning – J
They each get a proper introduction (Jenny Style…hope I dont offend any of you):
Ro…AKA the “Mastermind” – Ro came up with this whole plan which I think only speaks volumes as to how much he respects this group of guys and how much JB will be missed. Thanks for including me!
JB…AKA “DC” – It was nice meeting you and I wish you the best as you begin a new chapter in your life!
TK…AKA “Mr. GQ” – It was a pleasure meeting you and I’d bring you along to any shoot, especially if it meant having multiple clothing options for my clients. Thanks for being prepared and hope to see you again in the future!
GS…AKA “Creative Genius/Usher, Etc” – Okay so you don’t look like Usher but I dig the sunglasses and enjoyed your look. Thanks for all the ideas and I hope you like the pictures! Let me know if you’re ever looking to collaborate with a fellow photographer!
The crew –
AND to CB – Wish you could have joined the fun!
There was something about this family that I just LOVED!! Maybe it was because the kids were older than my typical clients (which means I didn’t have to jump around like a goof ball to get them to laugh or look at me). Or maybe it was because, during the session, I had the opportunity to meet three kids who were so individually unique in their own ways and so fun to hang out with.
I’m not quite sure what it was, but I do know I really enjoyed meeting this family (even mom and dad) and look forward to seeing them again in the future! Thank you R & K, Cameron, Carson and Miss Kennedy it was pleasure to work with you all – J
Yesterday morning I hit the ground running…litterally…running after the cutest 15 month old, Miss Harper! After taking the month of May off (for the most part) I was happy to be back in the swing of things and couldn’t have been happier to meet Harper and her parents. This session was so fun and I look forward to many more in the future. A & C, thank you for the opportunity to work with you guys (and your sister’s family too). Hope to see you guys again soon! – J
