The smile of a child

Nothing melts my heart more than children.  It’s not too often that I work with 1 year olds so yesterday was quite the treat!  It amazed me how much Ethan enjoyed the simple things in life.  I love watching newborns sleep and couldn’t help but grin, ear to ear, as I watched Ethan tear little pieces of grass from the yard and search for leaves.  D & W were wonderful and went right along with everything I asked of them, even though it was hot as heck outside!!  I hope you guys enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.  Ethan is so adorable and has quite possibly the best smile I’ve ever seen! I look forward to working with you guys again in the future.

PS Check out his eye lashes…nothing short of beautiful!

Ethan made me believe that there are tiny miracles everywhere-oh how I love photographing children! – J

An amazing resource for photographers

I’ve been spending a lot of time recently on research.  Starting a company is a lot of work and there are so many details to think about.  I came across this amazing source and at some point will be reaching out to the genius behind it!  Robyn Pollman, is the owner of http://www.buttonsandbowsphotography.com  She’s right in my stomping ground and focuses on the same subjects…children and families.  She has this really great blog, that I’ve only recently come across, Paperie Boutique.

Paperie Boutique  •  products, packaging and marketing ideas for professional photographers

Robyn does give aways like its her job and highlights products that enable us to do our jobs!  My favorite part is that she has guest photographers join the effort to talk about their business and what amazing things they do with their branding efforts!!  Just recently she posted a give away and I thought I would give it a shot!   Who doesn’t like freebies and while im starting off, her give aways could definitely save me on my upfront costs!  She has two give aways this week, a Kelly Moore bag and Abie Camera Strap (which are to die for) and a daisy cap give away from Girlie Girl Bowtique.

After reading the inspiring story from the designer of the daisy cap, I fell in love and it reminded me of my swimming days!  I want a daisy cap from Girlie Girl Bowtique / etsy.com/shop/girliebowtique – win at Paperie Boutique / paperieboutique.com by @shutterblog

Wish me luck on both- J

My First Ginger

Lil’ Brooks is the newest addition to a family I just love!  B & KT (sorry for the old nickname) are close friends whom I’ve known for quite a while.  I was in their wedding a few years ago and honored when KT asked me to do their infant photos.  I will admit, she didn’t have much of a choice – I’ve been begging to do them since she got pregnant.  Brooks is almost a month old and what a cutie!!   He has dimples to die for and the cutest hit of red in his hair, like his daddy.  I had a great time visiting with you guys today and wish more than anything that we lived closer!   All my love and congratulations – J
